Ella Louvaine Spira MBE
Born and raised in Gloucester, England, Jewish-British Ella Spira MBE, is a painter, Grammy nominated composer and theatre producer.
Ella Spira launched her Global Landscapes collection in March 2023 at Carnegie Hall, unveiling her work as a visual artist. Deeply influenced by her Jewish heritage and family history as a third generation Holocaust survivor, Ella has dedicated her life to celebrating and foregrounding underrepresented cultures.
Spira’s multidisciplinary approach regularly features innovative inter-cultural collaborations. Ella’s work is rooted in a conviction that the arts’ influence on society cannot be underestimated.
Spira comes from a long line of artistic heritage, including both her parents who are fine artists; her mother a landscape painter whose work has been exhibited in the Royal West of England Academy. Ella Spira insists she is not an abstract artist, she is always representing reality lying in front of her, to feel the energy of the space and subject matter. Her work aims to build bridges between cultures and enhance people’s well-being by connecting them to nature, fostering a respectful relationship with the natural world.
